Hot Tubbing (Concurrent Expert Evidence Direction)

An expert witness must have the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to give evidence effectively. The process of being cross-examined is a daunting experience and now experts may have to give concurrent evidence – be “hot tubbed” as well! This training gives an overview of the process of hot tubbing and tips on how experts can handle questions from the judge or arbitrator and the other expert in the hot tubbing process. This course is designed for experienced experts who wish to further develop and refresh their skills in giving evidence in a range of legal fora including the High Court, Arbitrations or the ICC.

An expert must be able to present evidence, answer questions and advance supporting evidence in their report. Experts will learn through the case preparation method how to prepare to be questioned and to hot tub based on their reports and the joint statements. Experts will be given tips and guidance on how to handle questioning and to hot tub with confidence. The day will consist of intensive role play with tips and feedback. Delegate numbers are limited to ensure each delegate receives challenging questioning with feedback.
