“An excellent refresher on the pitfalls of expert witness work – privilege and disclosure.”

"I just would like to take this opportunity to say thank you so much for the refreshing course and the content, it is as always very informative and helpful in many ways. I found the cases related to the matter very useful. I always highly express the benefit of the course to people I work with and the way this has been delivered - can't express enough how good it is for the people who want to take this path in their career."

“Very useful refresher on procedure, report writing and In Court techniques and requirements. Coverage of disclosure requirements and additional elements to incorporate into reports included good use of examples, case studies, break out discussions. The tutor was very clear, articulate and knowledgeable and helpful in his responses to questions raised.”

“The course definitely assisted my understanding of the subject. Whilst I am now a Senior Manager it was useful to cover subjects which I was not that experienced in, such as the use of single joint experts and things like privilege, without prejudice and confidentiality which, whilst they are more legal issues, do impact on our work and are therefore vital to be aware of. The most useful part was the questions we had. This really got us to apply the knowledge we had gained more practically and to different scenarios. Discussing the answers really helped embed everything and for that reason, I found that the most useful. As always, it was structured very well and moved at a good pace throughout. Whilst the detail was in the guide which we could keep and refer to when needed, the tutor really highlighted the most important points which were then discussed in greater detail. We then also looked at various scenarios and applied the knowledge we had gained to ensure we had fully understood the topics addressed. I would definitely recommend this course to my colleagues. The tutor is brilliant. I have attended a number of courses. Her way of teaching is very engaging and rather than reading from the guide or any pre-prepared slides, the style is more conversational which keeps everyone interested throughout. She is also able to answer any questions and is clearly very knowledgeable and experienced on the subject.”

“Excellent course overall. I would definitely recommend it. Good delivery and obviously a fantastic grasp of the subject matter. Personal insights and experiences are really very useful. The report writing critique particularly useful.”

"My objectives were met very well, a lot of useful ground covered as a refresher. The explanation around weight of evidence and avoiding bias was particularly helpful to me, in addition the explanation and examples around pitfalls in report writing and how to avoid these (with reference to staying within circle of knowledge / instructions).Well-presented and a good level of engagement with the participants. The additional material supplied as part of the course is well laid out and a good future reference source. Really good at explaining the different points of view of different parties (i.e. opposing sides, areas where lawyers can pick holes in arguments) and patient in developing these points in response to questions raised."

“The refresher session brought me up to speed with new case law since the last refresher session I attended. You can never stop learning in this subject area and even though I have attended this course before I feel that the course will help me to hone my skills within the sphere of my subject matter. Reports are always a challenge to compile, and the approach of funnels is something that I will definitely try with my next report. Excellent discussions on experts not acting as advocates or experts providing comments on points of law. This is something I have observed in others and I now have a better appreciation of the fine lines between roles and how I should avoid that pitfall. The tutor is easy to listen to and presented the subject matter in a manner that made sense to me. She was always happy to pause on any points of discussion and only progressed to the next topic when the attendees were happy to do so. When asked questions by an attendee the reply was focused, concise and linked to the information in our course pack.”

"The training day provided me with a complete refresher and update. The case studies helped, throughout the day, to bring to life the nuances and details the tutor explained, together with the interactive nature of the discussions bringing differing viewpoints. The course was pitched carefully to the experience of the participants, and, as such, it allowed fuller discussions of the issues and matters raised, including changes resulting from recent cases. I have attended 4 courses hosted by LET-all of which have been excellent."

“A really good refresher. Excellent. Always helpful to be reminded of the issues. Going through specific cases and the views of the Court. Always deliver excellent training, in particular drawing out the specific points from the case studies which are most relevant to us, or relevant to the questions being asked.”
